What teams build on mobile IPs.

Seven jobs where a real carrier connection makes the difference, what goes wrong without one, and how to set it up.

01

Web scraping

Collect public data from sites that block datacenter ranges, without tripping rate limits on the first request.

Why a mobile IP

Many sites score traffic by where it comes from. Requests from cloud and hosting ranges are cheap to flag, so they hit CAPTCHAs or blocks early. Mobile carrier IPs sit behind carrier-grade NAT, where one address is shared by many real subscribers at once, so blocking it outright would lock out ordinary users too.

How to set it up

  1. Point your scraper or headless browser at the proxy over HTTP or SOCKS5.
  2. Rotate between batches from the rotation URL or the API, or let the timer do it.
  3. Keep request rates human and reuse sessions where the target expects them.
Tip: Rotation is most useful between logical jobs, not between every request. A stable IP for one session looks more natural than a new one every second.

import requests

proxy = "http://USER:PASS@HOST:PORT"
session = requests.Session()
session.proxies = {"http": proxy, "https": proxy}

for url in urls:
    r = session.get(url, timeout=30)
    save(r.text)

# new IP between batches
requests.get("YOUR_ROTATION_URL")
02

Social media management

Run client and brand accounts from a German mobile connection, the kind of network these apps are built for.

Why a mobile IP

Social platforms are designed around phones on mobile networks. Logging in from a datacenter IP, or from one address shared across dozens of accounts, is one of the signals they use to challenge or restrict accounts.

How to set it up

  1. Give each account or client its own proxy and keep it on that proxy.
  2. Match the OS fingerprint to the device profile your tool presents.
  3. Rotate sparingly. Account work favours a consistent, trusted connection.
Tip: Pair each proxy with a matching browser profile or anti-detect profile, and keep the pairing fixed.

03

Ad verification

See the ads German mobile users actually see, and catch misplaced, cloaked or fraudulent placements.

Why a mobile IP

Ad networks target by carrier, region and device. Verification has to look like the audience it is checking, otherwise a cloaking campaign simply shows the checker a clean page.

How to set it up

  1. Pick the carrier that matches the campaign target.
  2. Load landing pages and ad slots through the proxy with a mobile user agent.
  3. Rotate between checks to sample more than one address.
Tip: Log the exit IP with every capture so each screenshot can be traced back to a carrier and time.

04

SEO and SERP monitoring

Track German rankings and mobile results from real German connections instead of estimating them.

Why a mobile IP

Search results depend on location and device. Checking German mobile rankings from a server in another country, or from a flagged range, returns results that are skewed or blocked.

How to set it up

  1. Run rank checks through a German mobile IP with mobile headers.
  2. Spread queries over time and rotate between keyword batches.
  3. Keep results per carrier if you need to compare networks.
Tip: Search engines are sensitive to query bursts. Throttle first, rotate second.

05

E-commerce price monitoring

Watch competitor prices, stock and delivery promises in the German market as local shoppers see them.

Why a mobile IP

Shops localise prices, shipping options and availability, and many protect their catalogues against bots. A German mobile IP sees the same storefront as a German shopper on a phone.

How to set it up

  1. Schedule catalogue crawls through the proxy.
  2. Use the API to rotate before each crawl run.
  3. Cache what does not change to keep request volume low.
Tip: Product pages often vary by session. Reuse cookies within a run so prices stay comparable.

06

Account management

Keep marketplace, ad and platform accounts on stable, clean mobile connections, one proxy per account.

Why a mobile IP

Platforms link accounts that share an IP or a device fingerprint. A dedicated proxy per account keeps them apart and gives each one a consistent network history.

How to set it up

  1. Assign one proxy to one account and document the pairing.
  2. Use the IP whitelist so only your own servers can use the proxy.
  3. Turn auto-rotation off for accounts that need a steady address.
Tip: Name each proxy after its account in the dashboard, so nobody on the team mixes them up.

07

App and web testing

Test apps, sites and geo-dependent features over real German mobile networks before your users do.

Why a mobile IP

Carrier networks behave differently from office Wi-Fi: NAT, latency, DNS and content filtering all vary. Testing through a real mobile connection catches problems that only show up for mobile users.

How to set it up

  1. Route your test device, emulator or CI job through the proxy.
  2. Compare behaviour across o2, Telekom and Vodafone.
  3. Use the TCP handshake delay setting to test slower conditions.
Tip: Run the same test suite through each carrier; differences point to network-specific issues.

Common questions.

Still unsure? Ask the team.

Is using a mobile proxy legal?

Using a proxy is legal. What you do through it has to be legal too: respect the terms of the sites you access, data protection law and copyright. Our terms of service list what is not allowed on our network.

How many proxies do I need?

For scraping, start with one per workload and add more when you need more parallel sessions. For account work, plan one proxy per account.

Should I rotate on every request?

Usually not. Rotation makes the phone reconnect to the network, which takes a moment, and constant IP changes can look less natural than a stable session. Rotate between batches or sessions.

Can I use the proxy with an anti-detect browser?

Yes. Any browser or tool that accepts an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy with username and password works. Some tools cannot open the rotation URL themselves; call it from a script or a browser tab instead.
